Travel to Serbia & Visas


Visa applications should be submitted personally to the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Stockholm or online through the portal for foreign nationals https://welcometoserbia.gov.rs/
At the Embassy in Stockholm you may apply for one of the following visas:
1) Short Stay Visa (Visa C) / Short-stay visas are mainly issued for private visits, tourism, business as well as other travelling needs. You may apply for a single, double or for multiple entries into the Republic of Serbia/


2) Long Stay Visa (Visa D) /Long-term visa is a permission to enter and stay in the territory of the Republic of Serbia between 90 and 180 days.
Visa D is issued to a foreigner who, in accordance with the visa regime for entry into the Republic of Serbia requires a visa, and who in the Republic of Serbia intends to apply for a temporary stay.
A foreigner who enters the Republic of Serbia without a visa, on the basis of the Decision on visa free entry to the Republic of Serbia for holders of foreign passports having a valid Schengen, UK and other Member States’ visa, or visa of the United States of America, and for holders of foreign passports having residence permit in the countries of the Schengen area, EU or the United States of America, cannot apply for temporary residence in Serbia. It is necessary to apply for a D visa which enables the regulation of temporary stay upon arrival in Serbia/
If you live far from Stockholm or in Latvia, you could send your documents by post.
- Visa Fee (Postage Fee) is payable by Bankgiro or by Swish (123 323 16 93)
- You have to send us Return Prepaid Envelope for returning back passports
- In order for the Embassy to obtain right information about your visa application in the letter please explain details of your planned visit, and inform us about the documents you are providing.

In case of sent documents by post, you have to keep in mind that you are sending documents on your own responsibility and the Embassy is not responsible for the possible loss or delays by the post in Sweden.

If you hold a Swedish national passport, you do not require a visa to travel to Serbia and may stay in Serbia no more than 90 days within a 6-month period. You may travel to Serbia visa-free with your national ID card.
If you hold a national passport of Latvia, you may travel to Serbia without a visa for Serbia for 90 days within a 6-month period. You may travel to Serbia visa-free with your national ID card.

All holders of travel documents for foreigners or refugees require an entry visa for the Republic of Serbia. The information on how to apply for a visa as well as required documentation you need to present in support of your application, could be found below.

• The Embassy reserves the right to request additional documentation. Applications are subject to decision by competent authorities in the Republic of Serbia and do not mean that visas will be granted. Furthermore, please be reminded that issued visas do not guarantee entry into Serbia. Entry is subject to additional approval by the Immigration Police
• Incomplete applications will not be taken into account.
• Visa processing times are at least 30 days. Plan your trip accordingly.
• We strongly advise to take refundable accommodation for tourist visits in case your visa is not granted.
• You may apply for a visa no earlier than 3 months before your intended trip
• There is no priority service when applying for visas
• Your travel document / passport needs to be valid at least 90 days after the day you exit Serbia
• You should have at least 2 empty pages in your travel document / passport.


Payments for visa fee

Visa fees payments are requested to be provided in the Swedish Krona-s (SEK) to the account of the Consular department of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia.
The costs of the money transfers (OUR), for the payment provided from the foreign countries, are to be covered by the sender / visa applicant. Consular fee is 750 SEK (plus bank transfer bank)
